Isis Settles was selected as a recipient of the 2023 Harold R. Johnson Diversity Service Award. The Office of the Provost, which administers the award, explains that it "[recognizes] faculty whose service goes above and beyond their regular duties and contributes to the development of a culturally and ethnically diverse campus community." Tabbye Chavous, Vice Provost for Equity & Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer, added that Settles's "contributions to diversity, equity and inclusion at the University have been extensive and of extraordinary caliber."
