Stilian Stoev, Professor of Statistics and Associate Director of the PhD Program, has been named Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. Stoev received this award for "his influential contributions in the modeling and analysis of stochastic processes with long-range dependence and heavy tails as well as for his important contributions to extreme value theory, max-stable processes, and statistics of extremes."

The designation of IMS Fellow has been a significant honor for over 85 years. Each Fellow is assessed by a committee of their peers and has demonstrated distinction in research or leadership that contributed significantly to the utility of and the appreciation of their field. Congrats Stilian!
